The short version
The calculator runs in your browser. What you type into it isn't sent to us or stored. We receive what you submit in a form, and, if you use Nettra Pro, the questions and masked statements you send for processing. We don't store those, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
- Forms you submit: your email, name and state.
- Basic site data: our host, Netlify, processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the site. [If analytics or advertising pixels such as the Meta Pixel are added, list them here and add a cookie consent banner.]
- Usage counts and error reports: we count page views and a few product actions (for example, that an estimate was saved) without cookies or any identifier, and your browser reports JavaScript errors with email addresses and long numbers removed. To enforce daily limits on the AI features, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address and access code for the day; it can't be turned back into your IP address.
- Calculator estimates: if you save an estimate, it's stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
- Nettra Pro questions: the questions you type into Ask a tax question.
- Nettra Pro statements: when you use Books, your browser masks account numbers and then sends the statement text (payees, dates, amounts, names on the account) to our servers to be read and categorized.
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send, Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, or copies of tax returns.
How AI features handle your information
Ask and Books are powered by Anthropic's Claude models through Anthropic's commercial API. Your question or statement text is sent to Anthropic to generate the answer or categories, and Ask may run web searches on official government and court sites. Nettra doesn't store your questions, statements or transactions on its servers; each request is processed and discarded. Anthropic's handling of API data is governed by its commercial terms, which [CONFIRM CURRENT TERMS: e.g., don't use API inputs to train models and retain them only for a limited period]. Your categorized transactions stay in your browser unless you choose "Save my progress in this browser."
How we use it
- To send the reminders and updates you asked for.
- To run, secure and improve Nettra.
Who we share it with
Service providers that help us operate — our website host (Netlify), our AI provider (Anthropic) for Pro features, and our email provider ([Kit / other]) — under their own privacy terms. We don't sell or rent personal information.
Your choices
Every email has an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, email privacy@nettratax.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards consistent with our written information security program. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
Nettra is for adults and isn't directed to children under 13.
